Trent McMinn
Trent is inspired by happenings/incidents/occurrences in the landscape of the everyday and says he likes to photograph what he finds to be humorous, surreal, poetic and interesting. In the past his main method of photographing was to wander the streets serendipitously coming across things and taking pictures. Recently Trent has taken on a more direct approach to image making – placing himself in the situations he wants to photograph – whether that is an experience or with a person he wants to photograph, whilst still trying to maintain that sense of spontaneity you get from wandering.
“The way I photograph is intertwined into my life – for me it’s always derivative from the experiences I have, mostly spontaneous and comes from a visceral rather than a considered place.”
