14/19′s Best of the Week – #03
Here’s what we’re into this week…
This photo is an exclusive by Anna Ryon, who is 18. She is having a solo exhibition in Seattle which opens tomorrow night, and she kindly sent me some stuff from it to look at. You can tell just by looking at her stuff why it makes sense to give someone this young a full solo show – she’s amazing!
This picture is by Andrew Green, from a series called I Want Tabone You. That is a good name for a series.
Nick Pomeroy‘s photos have so much charm to them its unreal. They are always filthy and scratched up, and you can tell he develops them himself; but this fucked-up-ness really adds to the intimacy and personal level of his stuff, every photo reads like a full story – he’s on fire.
I love it when you see a photographer you love take on a new medium and just be absolutely amazing with it. I’ve never seen Hannah Davis shoot any 120 stuff at all before, and straightaway she comes out with perfect, magical chunks of normality like this.
I ran into Matt Martin on Brick Lane the other day, he was shooting a zine purely made up of photos of photographers, so i stood awkwardly for about 5 minutes while he took my photo. Anyway, Matt just got back from what seemed like a really awesome trip to the States, where he did all sorts of roadtripping and crazy shit, and bought back a ton of great images – like this one!
This last one is by Maisie Cousins, who’s 17 and from London. She takes really dreamy, ethereal photos of cute girls and stuff, but more importantly, she has some of the best hair ever.
