Bruno Zhu
18 yeah-old Bruno Zhu moved to London from Portugal last September to study in an Art and Design Foundation Course. He started taking photographs a couple of years ago in digital format and then slowly moved to film. If asked bluntly, He says he doesn’t have any specific subject, but feels he is looking for some sort of “pleasant void”. He also says that photography definitely became an extra arm to express whatever is going through his mind:
“I believe in spontaneity, but I feel I don’t survive only by that. Sometimes they are meaningful; sometimes they’re just the joy of showing that place or situation I found. “Entertainment” is a word that has crossed my mind several times to describe what I’m doing, whether it is for me or to amuse others; but at the end I try to make myself forget all these questions and attempts to contextualize something that wasn’t done by means of a logical, numerical and alphabetical language; it’s simply a punch, a moment, a feeling or laughter caught in its rawest…”
