Interview: Lloyd Banks
So imagine this. You sit down to interview Lloyd Banks, member of G-unit, who’s worked alongside people like 50 cent and Dr Dre. The interview went well, you went slightly overtime, and asked questions you wouldn’t dare ask him face to face (in fear of getting the shit beaten out of you…) And then something fucks up with the recording, and that’s it, you’ve got nothing but your memory.
So here goes, from what I remember, it went a bit like this:
Hey, you good?
Yeah man… I’m good man.
How’s it all been going, with the release of HFM2 and all that?
Yeah man…it’s been good…
Cool…let’s talk a bit about G-Unit. Does it make you feel shit that 50cent always upstages you?
Nah man…he’s my bro.
Is this your chance to shine?
Yeah nigga.
Most of your songs / videos are pretty much about sex, girls dancing with barely anything on, money and crews. Is this what you want people that take you as a role model to listen to?
I dunno… it’s what everyone else does. I dunno.
Cool, so you want your listeners to turn into rapists / people who don’t give much of a shit about girls?
No.
The interview was 20 minutes long, but my memory isn’t that great. We pretty much talked about the first album he bought (Snoop Doggy Dog), inspirations (Nas) etc. I couldn’t understand him most of the time and he sounded pretty stoned (well, what ‘rapper’ isn’t nowadays).
I found this YouTube video of a “slut” questioning Lloyd Banks about sex, so you can get more of a feel for who this man is. He’s surprisingly inexperienced but likes to ‘spit in a bitch mouth’…Enjoy.
