Grime music’s biggest fans are always going to be the people who remember what it was like before everyone in the scene thought it would be a good idea to get all feminine and “sing” instead of “spit”. The good old days of grime consisted of kids leaving their usual occupation of cruising buses acquiring the latest Nokia phone via the pockets of innocent journey-goers, to then go to whatever pirate station would let them jump on some new Jammer or Dizzee dubs and try out their new bars. Those were the good old days. But although the scene has diluted somewhat, there is still recognisable talent popping up, with East Ham’s Maxsta being one of the primary artist right now. He’s 18, he’s dropped a couple of pretty good mixtapes, his style and flow is fucking incredible and he’s done a couple of sick videos.
